CC Cluster Node Software

Legal

This is the software the CC Clusters run.  It is NOT the USER software which is called CC User (AKA AR User)

This software is NOT freeware or shareware.

This software is available for $US 49.

You may download and test it for free for 30 days. At the end of this period, you must either purchase a license to use it, or else discontinue use of it.

My own cluster peaked at 2139 simultaneous telnet connections during the 2019 CQWW CW Contest.  There was no problem handling this number of connections.

No guarantees. Use at your own risk!

Software

You must install three programs.

If you are using Vista or Windows 7-10 then read me first

CC User
Cluster
Winsock

Then update the Cluster and Winsock programs with the latest versions. Overwrite the old cluster.exe and winsock.exe.
Cluster Update
Winsock Update

For RF connections you need to install additional programs.
agw2ccc.exe and AGWPE or BPQ32.

The cluster.exe program is the heart of the package. Here all the processing of data is done.

The winsock.exe program looks after the telnet connections, both users and other nodes. This is an updated version (2.17) of winsock.exe. You must use the link on this page to get the updated version of this program.

The CC User program connects to the cluster program as a user, allowing monitoring of the cluster's operation. This is the standard CC User program.

By splitting the cluster's functions into several smaller programs, the software has some unique features. One is that in most cases the software can be updated without disconnecting anyone.

Installation

I would really recommend Windows 2000 as a minimum for the OS. Use NTFS, not FAT32. Each user of the cluster system generates his own file. These contain the PC41 data and if the user connects to you, his filtering data. There are nearly 10,000 of these files in my computer at the present time. Every user generating a PC41 on the cluster backbone, generates one file. If you use FAT32, you will really have a lot of unused hard drive space.

For Agw2ccc.exe, just download and run the program. Fill-in its configuration form.
The following applies to the other 4 programs.

Setup

Create shortcuts for cluster.exe, winsock.exe and agw2ccc if used.

Start cluster.exe. Go through all the configuration items. Set them up. Restart the program.

Start winsock.exe. Go through its configuration pages and set them up. Restart the program.

After winsock and cluster are both running ok, press the "Connect Winsock" button on the Cluster sysop tab. This should cause the winsock.exe color to change from yellow to a normal windows background color. (gray). This indicates the cluster and winsock programs are talking to each other. After about one minute, the cluster will try to connect out to any nodes you have in the outgoing connection list.

All programs have help buttons linked to web pages for additional help during setup.
