TNC Setup

Some of the TNC parameters may need to be changed before connecting.

If necessary, you can get into TNC "command" mode by entering "^C" from the command line at the bottom of the main screen.

Compatible with X1J4 terminal mode.

TNC Connection

Connect

Get to this screen by "Configuration>Clusters>Radio".

The "Connect Response" is case sensitive. Enter a "timeout" in seconds. To execute the connect script, press the "Connect" button at the top of the main screen. If you have "Auto Reconnect" selected and if you get disconnected, you will automatically reconnect. If you wish to try out the "Auto Reconnect", enter "bye" from the command line at the bottom of the main screen. This will tell the cluster to disconnect you. Then after 60 seconds, the program will attempt to reconnect you. Normally the disconnecting should be done by either closing the program or selecting "Disconnect" at the top of the main screen.

TNC Connection via Digi

Digi

The digipeater call is VE7CC-15 in this example.

TNC Connection via Netrom

Netrom

The Netrom Call is "VE7CC-4" in this example.

The second "connect string" is a blank line. This will just send a carriage return. This gives the "JNOS" prompt.

All timeouts shown are 30 seconds in this example. You may use whatever you want up to a maximum of 65.
